How do you change followers into leaders?

It seems in forays society there are few leaders but a multitude of followers. People, especially the youth are so easily led to follow the majority and and can not think or make any decisions for themselves. How do we change this week mindset? What is Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass or Maya Angelou were followers? What if they were not free thinkers or courageous, lot willing to do the unthinkable? Where would this world be? We must stop being comfortable with trying to live out life in someone else's skin. It won't fit.
We must pray for our cowardice spirits to be removed and ask for it to be replaced by strength and confidence in who.we were called to be with or without the approval of others.
